Sven Deferme is a pharmacist by training (KULeuven – 1998). After his pharmacy degree, he obtained a PhD in Pharmacy (KULeuven – 2002). Following some years of preclinical research (Eli Lilly and UCB), he started PharmaXL in 2004. In the meantime, he is a specialized medical writer with experience in areas such as urology, gastro-enterology, haematology, medical devices, oncology, fertility and obstetrics, vaccines, malaria, emergency medicine, pneumology, psoriatic arthritis) and with different sorts of documents including publications, posters, abstracts, clinical study reports, protocols, CRFs, PSURs, MAA.

Learning
In order to keep up to date with the innovations and changes of the continuously evolving pharmaceutical/(bio)medical world,we urgently need more and better trained people.

PharmaXL provides biomedical professionals (e.g. pharmacists, medical doctors, biologists, pharmacologists, researchers) with trainings on ‘hard’ scientific topics (e.g. statistics, drug absorption, pharmacokinetics) and ‘soft’ skills (e.g. medical writing, presentation skills) in order to improve their knowledge on drug development and clinical research.
