This two-day course is designed for people who have little to no background in statistics or who need to refresh their statistical knowledge. The course will focus briefly on types of study designs, followed by explaining the basic principles involved in analyzing data (descriptively and drawing inference). First, basic statistical principles and statistical tests will be discussed and next those tests will be discussed in the context of clinical studies.

After you have completed this training course, you will be able to easily interpret data published in literature and understand why certain statistical tests have been performed. You will be able to communicate with your statistician and you will understand the statistical design of clinical studies.

No prework is required for this training.

The workshop will be given by Dr. Adriaens. After obtaining her PhD at the University of Ghent (Belgium), Dr. Adriaens has been working as a consultant for several major pharmaceutical companies in the preclinical as well as in the clinical department.

PharmaXL started in 2004 as a training center in order to fill the need for 'brain updates' in the pharmaceutical industry. The different workshops organized by PharmaXL have been attended by many medical and pharmaceutical professionals and students. This training is organized in cooperation with ECCRT.

This course will take place on May 10-11 and October 24-25, 2012 in the training facilities of ECCRT in Brussels, Belgium (Keizer Karellaan 576, 1082 Brussels).
